Turning Escape 2012
Activities

The weekend activities will be largely up to you. The main activity is woodturning. Do what you want, there's no set agenda. The auditorium is huge (seats 2500) and loading/off loading is level, no steps or ramps. If you want to wander around to see what others are doing, maybe gain a few ideas or inspiration, then go ahead.

Hopefully everyone will gain from this event. When you get over 100 turners together who knows what will eventuate. Only one thing can be guaranteed - there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself and have fun

Some activities are planned. These will include a few fun, competitive events such as a mystery turning event for teams of 3 or more, a duo turning for 2, and speed events for individuals. Participation will be totally voluntary. Even the "Best Dig In" over the weekend may be rewarded.

On hand will be several well known and proficient turners to help out and offer advice and guidance. They include Ernie Newman, Anna Dawes, Glenn Roberts and Jan Pennell.

There will be a "Silent Auction" where participants will be able to donate their "gems" for auction. The entire proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Just in case you forgot something vital, Trend Timbers will have a shop on site to help out.

The overriding aim for the weekend is for everyone to have fun, seriousness will not be tolerated.

For those who attend, but are not active in woodturning, a range of other activities, including trips to various local sites and attractions, will be available.
